CNN discovers (*gasp*) metalheads have a social conscience!
Well no shit. Here I sit listening to Metallica's "Leper Messiah", Iron Maiden's "Two Minutes to Midnight", and Megadeth's "Peace Sells ... but Who's Buying?" (all from, y'know, like, twenty years ago!), and wondering when metal is ever going to "grow up".
Bite me, fuckers.

All the established media has done for the last 30 years is look at the album covers and cry "Oh my God... They are all satanist drug addicts..." Well, now some of those "satanist drug addicts" are all grown up and in positions of some authority. There is probably a metallica fan producing Bill O'Reilly's TV show... a Slayer fan running the newsroom at msnbc...
The 30-40 somethings that were listening to metallica 20 years ago are now in a position to be vocal and not just dismissed.
And the reporter pissed me off by including glam bands in the "metal" category.
So ... did you want your Enuff Z'nuff and Firehouse albums back? :)
