I normally would hate to link to Fox News ...

... but they were the ones to report that George Lucas thought that Spider-Man 3 was "silly".

From the FA:

Lucas told me he has seen all the summer movies since his company, Industrial Light and Magic, does most of the special effects. The only one they didn't work on was "Spider-Man 3." What did he think of it?

"It's silly. It's a silly movie," he said. "There just isn't much there. Once you take it all apart, there's not much story, is there?"

Well, it's not "Star Wars."

"People thought 'Star Wars' was silly, too," he added, with a wink. "But it wasn't."

Do I even need to comment on this??

How much you wanna bet ...

... that they bury this fucker in an unmarked grave?

Jerry Falwell, dead at 73.

'Cause you know that grave would be desecrated like a mother fucker by everyone he's ever pissed off. Probably arranged to have an armed guard for it. Rot in Hell, you cocksucker!

CthulhuTech

he Last War
2085. Humanity faces extinction. Alien insects from the edge of our solar system, long hidden behind the façade of reality, descend to enslave us. Hordes of unspeakable horrors roll out from Central Asia, laying waste to anything in their path. The church of the fish-god scours the world for lost occult secrets to unleash terrible forces. Dead gods awaken and turn their dreadful eyes toward the Earth. And within hides a cancer, eating away at the very heart of the New Earth Government.

This is the Aeon War. This is the time of CthulhuTech.

Climb inside a thirty-foot tall war machine and rain down hell on the unwavering Migou. Fight tooth and nail on the front lines against the horrific beasts of the Rapine Storm. Seek out the disgusting corruption of the insidious Esoteric Order of Dagon. Explore the dark world of the malignant Chrysalis Corporation and their unseen monstrous agents. Sift through secrets long thought lost and bend the power of the cosmos to your will. Join in symbiosis with something beyond time and space and become a shape-shifting bringer of wrath.

Nowhere else will you find a setting like this.

Finally caught up with heroes

Holy Crap.

I dig the future heroes, you know, dark and badass!

I did not expect the whole bit about who the president really is. And I dig a superhero story where some motherfuckers gotta die.

Nothing drives hoplessness home like 2 bullets in the back!

Mmmm, public domain goodness ...

Public Domain Torrents offers several Bittorrent powered downloads of public domain movies. There's a lot of stinkers there, but a few real gems. If you've never seen the 1940's Superman animated shorts, you could do a lot worse.

Pearl the Landlord

A pretty funny clip from Will Ferrell. Parents with kids will be especially pleased, I think ....

Whoa. Just ... whoa.

Dungeon and Dragon magazines cease publication in September.

Whoa. I can't say I'm overly surprised, considering the move to on-line publishing most companies have done, but it's still a bit of a shock.

Any bets on there being a wake at Gencon?

Motivational Thursday

"I find your lack of buoyancy ... disturbing."

Saddam is dead

Right around 11pm (our time) on December 29th, or about 6am on the 30th in Iraq. They showed Hussein being led to the gallows and the noose being placed on his neck, but Iraqi state TV froze the picture before the actual hanging.

The Taliban and Al Qaeda are already asserting that the Jihad against the United States and it's allies will intensify. Even though he was found guilty and sentanced to death by a court comprised of Iraqi's.

So, I was watching CNN at 3 in the morning... a car bomb was set off in a parking garage at a Madrid airport. Reps from the airport said they got a warning call 45 minutes before the bomb was detinated.

They said this is the M.O. of Baathist separatists. Saddam was the leader of the Baath Party... Coincedence?

The reason why I hate Thanksgiving

A night-time prayer from your Uncle Bill ...

Thanks for the wild turkey and
the passenger pigeons, destined
to be shit out through wholesome
American guts.

Thanks for a continent to despoil
and poison.

Thanks for Indians to provide a
modicum of challenge and
danger.

Thanks for vast herds of bison to
kill and skin leaving the
carcasses to rot.

Thanks for bounties on wolves
and coyotes.

Thanks for the American dream,
To vulgarize and to falsify until
the bare lies shine through.

Thanks for the KKK.

For nigger-killin' lawmen,
feelin' their notches.

For decent church-goin' women,
with their mean, pinched, bitter,
evil faces.

Thanks for "Kill a Queer for
Christ" stickers.

Thanks for laboratory AIDS.

Thanks for Prohibition and the
war against drugs.

Thanks for a country where
nobody's allowed to mind their
own business.

Thanks for a nation of finks.

Yes, thanks for all the
memories-- all right let's see
your arms!

You always were a headache and
you always were a bore.

Thanks for the last and greatest
betrayal of the last and greatest
of human dreams.

Welcoming the Holidays

Man... I think I have to finally give up on them.

His voice is gone, and without the growl... there is nothing left. Load and Reload had a couple of good moments (there were 4 or 5 good songs spread over those 2 albums), St. Anger was horrible - and if this is any indication it will be more of the same Bob Rock influenced shit. I held out a glimmer of hope because Rick Rubin is producing the next album. But, I think the king is dead...

This brought a tear to my eye

This is a bunch of Japanese chicks watching 'Ringu'

I just want to reiterate that she WILL be mine!

This one too...
